Abstract
The Boris Asaf’ev’s theory of intonation. The significance of Asaf’ev’s life and work get much relevance today, thanks to his musical theory of intonation. In the western culture, the term of “musical intonation” designates only the relations of frequencies between the sounds, in other words, be in tune. In the Russian culture, this term have a much wide meaning, and appoint to others aspects of the music. In the Asaf’ev’s theory, the term defines the essence of the same music.
