Abstract
This work covers the primary sketches and versions of Piano Concerto Nº 2 Opus 40 by Mendelssohn. Throughout the analysis of the genesis of the work, the comparison with the final version of the concert published by the author, allows us to understand the
decisions taken during the process of selection of the materials and their final ordering.
