Abstract
This article analyzes the concerts and festivals of music rock performed in Santiago between 1973 and 1983. In those years, there was a silent pose of the musicians and audiences toward the military regime. Though, signs of a critical and hopeful stance emerged slowly and gradually. The government expressed its internal conflicts too by blending repression with support for live music shows, through the Secretaría Nacional de la Juventud, Radio Nacional de Chile, and the written press, all those faithful to the military dictatorship.
