Abstract

This paper analyses a principal study performance assessment case based on rubrics, in a tertiary education programme, by using staff and students testimonies. The study confirms and complements the literature, emphasizing the pedagogical use of the strategy, not only for feedback provision but also for teaching planning. It also suggests factors, which might bias the assessment. Finally, it points out further research to explore the relationship between teachers’ perception of their initial professional training and their current assessment practices.
