Resumen
El presente trabajo intenta poner en relevancia la importancia del oratorio Elías de Felix Mendelssohn en el repertorio sinfónico coral del romanticismo y su vinculación con la creación coral de G.F. Händel, primero a través del análisis de las principales características de su producción coral, la cual dejó una huella imborrable en la tradición coral inglesa, y en segundo término en la estrecha relación existente entre estas características y la creación del Elías, trabajo clave en la producción sinfónico coral del maestro de Hamburgo.
